Community-based Clerkship
A core component of chiropractic education is a required set of clinical rotations that enhances a doctor’s ability to deliver care in a wide variety of settings. At Campbellsville University, the last year of study is designed to build confidence and skill through purposeful experience.
Campbellsville University offers students in their final year the flexibility to do their community-based clerkship anywhere in the country and complete the final year fully online.
The community-based clerkship provides students with close mentorship in a variety of clinical and healthcare settings, in a location of their choice and approved by the department of clinical education. Students partner directly with clinical educators to tailor their experience to meet their professional goals.
Scenario 1
Miami? Chicago? Denver?
- Kate has always wanted to live in a big city, and the community-based clerkship offers her an opportune time to give her dream its shot. She appreciates the flexibility of finishing her doctorate online so she can throw herself into treating a diverse group of patients and soaking in everything the city has to offer.
Scenario 2
Choose a regional hub
- Alex has young kids who are enrolled in Mercer County Schools and he’s not ready to move them. He decides to expand his clinical reach beyond the Harrodsburg area with an easy 45-minute drive to Lexington, where there are myriad options that can offer the types of experiences he wants to gain.
Scenario 3
Opt for a trusted mentor
- Kory wants to do her clerkship with a chiropractor she knows and trusts – the one who treats her family. She saves money living at home, better positioning herself for long-term financial success. By the end of her final year, Kory knows the practice so well she lands her first job and is even talking about taking over the practice when her mentor retires.
